Arfat Sheikh

"With his newfound confidence and improved vision, Arfat can now focus on his studies and see a brighter future."

Jharkhand 13 Years Old Village Eye Camp Shatterproof Glasses

Arfat Sheikh, 13 years old, is a student at Swami Vivekanand Vidya Mandir School. He lives with a physical disability - a reality that already places additional demands on him as he navigates school life. But for some time, an undetected vision problem had been quietly making everything harder. He struggled to see the blackboard from his seat, couldn't follow along with lessons, and found it increasingly difficult to participate in classroom activities.

Neither Arfat nor his father initially connected his difficulties in school to a problem with his eyesight. Like many students in similar situations, he adapted as best he could - sitting closer, straining to focus - without anyone identifying the underlying cause. His performance and confidence began to suffer.

"When he heard about a free eye check-up camp in his village, he attended with his father - and everything changed."

When a Care Netram free eye check-up camp was organised in his village, Arfat attended with his father. The screening revealed that his vision was significantly impaired and that he needed glasses. Care Netram provided him with a pair of durable, shatterproof glasses - chosen to withstand the rigours of an active child's school life.

The transformation was immediate. For the first time, Arfat could clearly read the blackboard, follow his lessons, and engage with his classwork with ease. The classroom that had felt like a place of struggle became one where he could finally participate fully.

Both Arfat and his father expressed deep gratitude to the Care Netram team. For a boy who already faces daily challenges, having clear vision has opened a door to learning and possibility - a brighter future, brought into focus by a single pair of glasses.
